Hour Budgets, Labor Budgets and Expense Budgets -- Budgeted, ETC and Estimated Total
The fields in this section allow for the capture of project hours, labor & expense bill and cost $ information.
This tab is available to users having any of the following roles: Administrator, P&R Administrator, Project Managers and Project Leads.
Budgeted - The budget fields can be used to indicate the original amount budgeted for a particular project or task (unit of work). Only positive numbers allowed (with the exception of the Bill $ fields, which also allow for a negative amount in order to support budgeting of discount amounts).
These values will appear in a variety of project reports.
The Burdened Bill and Cost values will only appear in the Project Accounting > Project Cost Summary (JSR) report (if they have been included in the Cost Report definition).
These fields are only visible with the Project Tracking, Portfolio or Financials licenses.
Note: These budget entries do not constrain the entry of time or expense actuals, but rather are available for comparison and reporting purposes.
ETC - (Estimate to Complete) - A project manager may choose to track progress on a project by entering this value.
A number of reports within Unanet use this value to calculate and report project or task status.
Note that certain reports will ignore this value if the Est. Total field also has a value.
As an aid for populating the ETC values, Project Managers may choose to use the ETC wizard.
Only positive numbers allowed (with the exception of the Bill $ fields, which also allow for a negative amount in order to support budgeting of discount amounts).
Est. Total - (Estimated Total) - A project manager may choose to track progress on a project or task by entering this value (which may differ from the original budgeted amount as the project progresses).
A number of reports within Unanet use this value to calculate and report project status.
Note that certain reports will ignore the ETC values if the Est. Total field also has a value.
Only positive numbers allowed (with the exception of the Bill $ fields, which also allow for a negative amount in order to support budgeting of discount amounts).
See the Project Status Report for more examples of how this data may be used in reporting.
